During the month of December, we worked on telling time and elapsed time. Students practiced finding the amount of time that passed between the starting time and the ending time of an event. A great activity to do with your child is to find the elapsed time of activities you do together, and an example would be going grocery shopping or playing a game.
In the month of January, we will be learning all about fractions. In the beginning, we will learn about how fractions are made up of equal parts. We will create own representations of fractions, and describe them with terms numerator and denominator.
Students should expect to have homework most nights, and are expected to complete the work and return it the next time they have class.
